Standing by Words is a masterpiece of essay-craft. We won’t have time to explore it all today, so I’d like to split this book up into two discussions (assuming people here would like that). In case you missed it, here is why I think Berry’s writing is so pertinent to this blog’s explorations of selfhood, philosophy, and technology:
His ideas are accessible and universally relevant enough that you can join this first conversation even if you haven’t read the book. I’m happy for this to serve as a “conversion funnel” and hopefully draw some more people into Berry and why he matters. So come as you are…I’ll be glad to see you in there, in whatever condition.
