I just uploaded highlights from my three live electric guitar sets Oshan Anand's Tea Temple at the MAPS Psychedelic Science conference for distribution on all streaming services.

These were easily some of the most challenging sets I've played due to uncontrollable environmental variables, but the same volcanic contact high of 13,000 gathered psychonauts — not to mention the amazing space, between the Abraxas art car and the Tribe13 Gallery — made for a rich vein of inspiration from which to draw my inspiration.

Big thanks to Mathias Pailas & Eostar Kamala for helping organize such a fantastic lineup and for holding space for all of us on stage — and thanks to Raven Mitch Mignano for stepping up at the last minute to run sound all week (not to mention jamming with me on an ABSOLUTELY EPIC live remix of my song about the bardo and 5-MeO-induced near-death experiences).

PS — For those who don’t know, I was the first musician to ever play at one of these conferences back in 2010 and donated sets again in 2011, 2013, and 2017 — not to mention at myriad MAPS-affiliated fundraising in Austin and at their Burning Man camp and for related documentaries and the Phase II & III MDMA clinical trials and in various therapeutic settings over the years…but it had been a LONG time and meant a lot to be back in the mix with everyone. The roots for this release go DEEP and the branches all reach VERY high. I hope to see you in the chat on August 25th!

✨ Painting Hats Again:

Also! Due to economic necessity, I have emerged from hat-painting retirement. For a few years there I was paying my rent by making custom lids for people…something like 340 of these babies are in circulation, and after a while I got hungry for other projects. But since leaving the years I spent as a professional student of elite systems science at SFI I’ve been called back to my art…not just painting lids (although I have half a dozen primed blanks waiting for your order) but instrument cases, vinyl dolls, really anything you care to send through the mail or have me acquire and paint for you.

Floor price on custom work is $150. There’s no ceiling. I am happy to discuss the specs of your project, no matter how modest or ambitious.
