Keys to The Secret Trove of Unreleased Podcasts

Update: I have been so incredibly busy, helping with the new AI Capabilities & Alignment Consensus Project, prepping for book launch, whipping up a new mural and a series of original canvases for my upcoming show at The Santa Fe Artists Network, opening another show with DeVotchKa at Meow Wolf, writing, and more:

Consequently, I am sitting on a huge pile of unreleased podcast episodes, including conversations with:

Tyson Yunkaporta, Adam Widawski, Robert Gehorsham, Nate Kinch, Stuart Kauffman, Christopher Richardson, Mat Mytka, Layman Pascal, Andrea Faris, Carl Hayden Smith, TechGnosis Collective, Nancy Zamierowski, Henry Gee, Sean Geobey, Alex Komoroske, John Roescher

I’m publishing them as fast as I can manage but as of today, founding members can access a new archive unedited raw recordings (which I will continue to update as new episodes are recorded). Those links are below the paywall in this post.

Yes yes, give me the keys to months of unreleased conversations (and the Weirdosphere course, and much else):

On Active Inference, Nonduality, & Dreaming AI

My friends at the Active Inference Institute just had me sit in to host a panel for their latest (currently ongoing) annual Symposium. Above is the permalink to day one’s proceedings, starting with keynote speaker Karl Friston and then jumping into a discussion with him, my AICACP colleague Adam Safron, and AI researchers Hongju Pae and Alex Ororbia. We talked about the thermodynamics of selfhood and why it’s a problem that large language models don’t actually dream…

Book Club Rescheduled for 11/21

Our conversation with Alexander Douglas, author of Against Identity, will be on Friday November 21st at 11 am Mountain Time! Hopefully this works for people; our original poll majority for the 14th turned out to be a travel date for him and I wouldn’t want to cut him out of what promises to be a very juicy discussion.

That’s another week to read the free NetGalley version he gave paid members, and it’ll be generative and worthwhile even if you haven’t soaked it up in time for the call. In the meantime, I’ll post some of my favorite bits from his book in the Discord server’s members-only channel…
