I apologize in advance. As neuroscientist Kiki Sanford and I discuss on her wonderful show This Week In Science (below), what the world needs right now are not content creators but content destroyers:

This is why I argue that AI models trained on specific corpora will be so helpful as a way of keeping the information-processing demands on people at something closer to the human scale. None of us were supposed to have 5,000 friends or be subscribed to 300 email newsletters or find ourselves responsible for knowing what’s going on in every political region across an entire planet. It’s absurd. That said, here we are on the very edge of the error catastrophe threshold (call it what you like: “metacrisis,” “singularity,” etc.) and living through a phase transition into the new planetary — the profound emergence of a new syntax of human-human, human-nonhuman, human-technology relationships waking up as an integrated Noosphere. Not necessarily fun if you’re resistant to metabolizing the philosophical implications of scale (more on that in Future Fossils 220 when I chat with Joshua DiCaglio). But I recommend going with the wave, as I always have. I’m here to help you have a good trip.
